"The Orientation at RMH is very thorough and prepared me well in my transition from medical student to intern." - Dr Mifsud Intern 2010

The Royal Melbourne Hospital realises the anxiety faced when entering a new hospital and unit. This is why we endevour to provide interns with the best possible orientation. The initial hospital orientation encompasses 3 and half days with lecture, practical skills sessions including intermediate life support training, shadowing and many opportunities for questions.

Each unit conducts their own specific orientation. At these orientation sessions you will receive a Unit Handbook or Guide from the Department and a Rolling Handover Document (ROVER) which has been created by interns for interns. You will be encouraged to ammend the ROVER as required to ensure a smooth transition for the following interns.

Medical Education E-Learning (MEL) contains orientation material which can be accessed at your own leisure. As each day passes more and more content is being added to the E-learning platform, providing you with all the material you need in one location.
